“Smederevo’s autumn” is a tourist event held every year in September in Smederevo, devoted to fruits of autumn, grapes and vineyards of Smederevo, with the various exhibitions, parades and processions as the carnival of medieval knights and the rich cultural and artistic program held in the famous Smederevo’s Fortress, the squares and streets of this interesting city.
Ethno park “Terzića avlija“ is located in the village Zlakusa. “Terzića avlija” is a typical traditional farmyard, completely authentic with two old Serbian houses and related facilities (dairy, sheds, farm … a few newly built summer houses, a small summer theater and a small souvenir shop).
The Royal palaces complex is situated on Dedinje, very famous part of Belgrade, more specifically at the highest point Dedinje’s Hill. It is placed on 135 ha of a beautiful area and the complex of the palaces consists of The Royal Palace, The White Palace and The Royal Chapel of the Holy Apostle Andrew I.
Three-dimensional animated film “The Most Beautiful Place since ancient times” by Marko Radosavljević is probably the best and most original idea of the medieval Belgrade ever made in any kind of technique. The film faithfully presented appearance of the Belgrade Fortress then, the Court of Despot Stefan Lazarević, city ports, streets and squares where you could feel the atmosphere, characteristic for medieval times.
Vranje is situated in south Serbia, representing the center of the same name municipality in Pčinjski region. It lies in the valley of the Vranjska River, not far from its confluence to the South Morava River. On your way to Macedonia and Greece you do have reason to look up and keep in Vranje. A good geographical location, long tradition in a spa treatment, healing and natural health resources, significant monasteries, museums and archaeological places, important cultural and historical monuments, the holiday resort at the Besna kobila, enviable accommodation and traditional cuisine in many restaurants, represent just some of the tourist offer in this part of Serbia.
Castles in Vojvodina were built from the XVIII to the XX century, by wealthy farmers and Austro-Hungarian nobility. They were built far from the cities, in baroque or classic style and they were surrounded by beautiful parks and garden, necessarily with a horse farm. After the II World War was colonization and castles in Vojvodina began to lose their glory.
The beauty of Belgrade was stressed again by the soldiers of the First and Second Crusades, the French and German armoured knights of Gottfried of Bouillon and Frederick Barbarossa, who passed this way at the end of the 11th and in the 12th century. And quite certainly it was loved by the Serbian king Dragutin, who conquered it in 1284. The Despot (ruler) of Serbia, Stephen Lazarevic, wrested it from the Hungarians in 1402 and in the town charter opened his heart:
“…I found that most beautiful place of ancient times, the great town of Belgrade, which had been by chance destroyed and was deserted. I rebuilt it and dedicated it to the Virgin Mary.”
Užice is one of the macro-regional centers in Serbia, the largest city and administrative center of the West Serbia, and with its fantastic location, in the region of Zlatibor and Tara, Užice can offer so many interesting tourist attractions, making locals proud of their hometown.Užice had become a recognizable brand of Serbia and the Balkans, not only for the famous smoked ham and wine, but for its natural beauty as well.
In the city, dominate the following buildings: the building of the former City Administration, as old as the city is by itself, where is today the Cultural Centre, Library, Museum of Modern Art, Takovska newspaper and City TV. In front of the building there are white marble statue of Prince Alexander, the city founder, and the Duke Milan Obrenović as well as the bust of the famous Živojin Mišić who was just from this building leaded the Suvoborska-Kolubarska battle in 1914.
In the valley, at the confluence of the rivers Nišava and South Morava is situated Niš. The city covers an area of about 600 km: city Niš, Niška Spa and 68 suburbs. Niš is situated at the crossroads of the most important Balkan and European traffic routes.
